This guy in the photo trying to look all serious and pensive… That’s me!
My name is Sean. Doing introductions has always been somewhat difficult for me. And I’m usually quite a bit more awkward and smiley than this photo makes me out to be. If you’re a geek for personality tests like I am, I’m a type 9 on the enneagram and an ISFP on the MBTI. A true introvert through-and-through.
I like pour over coffee, and rainy days (unless its a photoshoot day). I like hanging out with a few close friends. I like getting lost on purpose and discovering something new and interesting. And I like chill days with no itinerary. All that might make me sound a bit messy, but despite my go with the flow attitude, I’m actually quite tidy and focused when I’m working on something I enjoy. When it comes to photography, or writing a script, or making a short film, I make sure I cross off everything on my list.
My photography hobby started when my dad gave me a camera in high school. I became the one capturing those candid moments for my friends; creating a visual narrative for all those funny little moments that might have been forgotten otherwise. In college that interest expanded into street photography; capturing little snippets of stories as people pass by. A chance to freeze time for myself as the world continues to move.
Too be honest, I used to say I would never make photography into my job. Something like wedding photography seemed like it would take my carefree hobby and turn it into something stressful. That quickly changed after I had the chance to try it out for myself. Wedding photography is a chance to get to know people in a way that resonates with an introvert like me. I hope I can freeze those happy moments in time for you; the same way I have for my friends and myself.
